Nohmah is built to keep your focus private. Your sessions, notes and blocked apps stay on your iPhone. Here's exactly what we do and don't collect.

Who we are

Nohmah is an iPhone app for Deep Work, Study and Sleep. In this policy, "Nohmah", "we" and "us" mean the developer of the app. This policy explains what information the app and this website handle, why, and the choices you have. If you have a question, email us at mediamaka09@gmail.com.

The short version

  • No account. You never create a login, and we don't run our own servers for the app.
  • Your activity stays yours. Your sessions, focus history, streaks, Quick Recall notes, sound mixes and settings are stored on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud. We cannot see them.
  • We never see which apps you block. App blocking uses Apple's Screen Time, and Apple gives Nohmah only private tokens, not the names of your apps.
  • Your name and email are optional. If you choose to give them during setup, we keep them to send you occasional news. You can unsubscribe anytime.
  • We use two service providers: RevenueCat to process subscriptions, and AppsFlyer to measure which of our ads lead to downloads and purchases.
  • No tracking prompt, no ads in the app, and we never sell your data.

Information that stays on your device

Nearly everything you do in Nohmah is stored only on your iPhone:

  • Your Deep Work, Study and Sleep sessions, including what you're working on, durations, focus time and streaks.
  • Quick Recall notes you write after a Study session.
  • Your sound mixes, favorite tracks, saved mixes and app settings.
  • Your answers to the setup questions (for example, how much time you spend on your phone). These shape your in-app experience and are not sent to us.
  • The name you enter, used to personalize the app (it is also shared with us as described below).

iCloud sync

If you're signed in to iCloud, Nohmah syncs this information through Apple's CloudKit to your own private iCloud account, so it can be restored on your devices. This data lives in your iCloud, under Apple's control and Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to it.

App blocking and Screen Time

When you turn on app blocking, Nohmah asks for Apple's Screen Time permission and you choose apps using Apple's own picker. Apple shares your choices with Nohmah only as private, unreadable tokens, so we never learn which apps or websites you selected, and Apple does not give Nohmah your Screen Time usage. These tokens and your blocking schedules are stored only on your device.

Information we collect

Name and email you choose to give us

During setup, Nohmah asks for your name and, after the paywall, your email. Both are optional. If you enter them, they are sent to a private spreadsheet we keep with Google (Google Sheets), together with the date you signed up. We use them to:

  • send you occasional updates about Nohmah, such as new features; and
  • tell you about other apps and products we build that we think you may like.

Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can email us to remove your details.

Purchases and subscriptions

Payments are processed by Apple. We never receive your card or bank details. To check that a purchase is valid and keep your access up to date (including renewals, cancellations and refunds), we use RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a random, anonymous ID created for your install, your purchase and subscription history for Nohmah (which plan, price, currency, dates and status), basic device information (such as device model, iOS version and app version), your App Store country, and your IP address.

Ad measurement

We advertise Nohmah (for example, on TikTok). To understand which ads lead people to install and subscribe, we use AppsFlyer, a measurement provider. When you install and open Nohmah, AppsFlyer receives:

  • an app-specific device identifier (Apple's "identifier for vendor"), your IP address, device model, iOS version, language and app version;
  • the fact that you installed and opened the app; and
  • a small number of in-app events: finishing setup, starting a trial, and purchasing a subscription or lifetime access (including the price and currency).

Nohmah does not ask for permission to track you and does not access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). AppsFlyer uses this information to tell us, and the ad platforms we work with, which campaigns led to installs and purchases. Apple also sends anonymous, aggregated install reports through its SKAdNetwork system, which AppsFlyer helps us read. RevenueCat may share the same purchase events with AppsFlyer so that renewals are counted correctly.

AppsFlyer never receives your sessions, notes, blocked apps, setup answers, name or email.

This website

Our website is hosted on WordPress. Like most websites, our host may record standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) to keep the site running and secure. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when you visit.

What we don't collect

  • No microphone, camera, contacts, photos or location access.
  • No sleep tracking. Sleep mode plays sound; it doesn't monitor you.
  • No reading of your Screen Time usage or the names of apps you block.
  • No ads shown inside the app.
  • No push notifications.

Who we share information with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for others to use for their own advertising. We share information only with these service providers, which process it on our behalf:

ProviderWhat forTheir privacy policy

RevenueCatVerifying purchases and managing subscriptionsrevenuecat.com/privacy
AppsFlyerMeasuring which ads lead to installs and purchasesappsflyer.com/legal/privacy-policy
GoogleStoring the optional name and email you give us; website fontspolicies.google.com/privacy

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale, in which case this policy will continue to apply.

Why we're allowed to use it

Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on:

  • Contract: to provide the app and the subscription you purchase (RevenueCat, Apple).
  • Consent: for the name and email you choose to give us. You can withdraw consent anytime.
  • Legitimate interests: to measure and improve our advertising (AppsFlyer) in a way that doesn't use your advertising identifier or your in-app activity, and to keep our services secure.

How long we keep it

  • On-device data stays until you delete it or delete the app. Data in your iCloud stays until you remove it in your iCloud settings.
  • Name and email are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Purchase and measurement data held by RevenueCat and AppsFlyer is kept for as long as needed for those purposes and as their policies and the law require.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete your app data by deleting Nohmah. To remove synced data, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage on your iPhone.
  • Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, or by contacting us.
  • Turn off app blocking or revoke Screen Time access anytime in Settings → Screen Time on your iPhone.
  • Opt out of ad measurement by emailing us, and we'll ask AppsFlyer to stop processing data about your device.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK, or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we don't hold your in-app data, most requests concern your name and email or the data held by RevenueCat and AppsFlyer. Email mediamaka09@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Children

Nohmah is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU and UK), and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us their name or email, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security and international transfers

Data stored on your device and in iCloud is protected by Apple's security. Our service providers use industry-standard safeguards. They may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, those transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app or by email (if you've given it to us) before it takes effect.
